Who we are
VEDI Global School (“VEDI”, “we”, “us”) is operated by VEDI Global School LLC, a company registered in Texas, USA, at 5900 Balcones Drive STE 100, Austin, TX 78731. We run an online school for children, and we are responsible for — the “controller” of — the personal data described in this policy. A note about children
VEDI is used by children, so a parent or legal guardian sets up the account, provides the information, and gives consent on the child’s behalf. We deliberately collect as little about a child as teaching them well requires — nothing “just in case.”
What we collect
About you (the parent or guardian):
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- The country you live in.
- Your billing details when you pay — handled by our payment processor. We do not see or store your card number.
About your child:
- Their name, their age, and the year or level they are in.
- The language they learn in, and any other language they study.
- Their country (and city, only if you give it).
- Anything you choose to tell us about how they learn — in your own words. We do not ask for diagnoses.
Their schoolwork:
- The work your child does with us — their answers in lessons, what they type to the AI teacher, worksheet entries, and photos of work you or your child upload.
- Records of progress: what your child has mastered, and brief, factual notes on how a session went (never a judgement about who they are).
Technical information:
- Basic information your browser sends so lessons run properly (device and browser type), and error logs that help us fix faults.
- If you send us a problem report, it may include a screenshot that you choose to attach.
What we never do
- We never sell your data or your child’s data — to anyone, for any purpose.
- We never share it for advertising.
- We never watch your child through a camera or microphone — not during lessons, and not during assessments.
- We never use a camera or microphone to guess how your child is feeling. In a school this is prohibited under EU law, and we hold to it everywhere we teach.
- We never label your child. Our notes record what a child did, never a verdict on who they are.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use this information to provide the schooling you have signed up for — to teach your child, to report their progress to you, and to keep your account running and secure. We do not use it for anything else.
For families in the EU and UK, our lawful bases are: the performance of our contract with you; your consent for your child’s information, which you can withdraw at any time; and our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and working.
Who else handles the data
To run the school we rely on a small number of trusted companies that process data on our behalf, under contract, only to provide the service — never for their own purposes:
- Hosting and database — where your child’s account and work are stored.
- The AI language provider that powers the AI teacher — your child’s typed messages are sent to it to generate the teaching reply.
- A text-to-speech provider that turns lesson text into the AI teacher’s voice.
- A safe, filtered web-search provider used to find teaching resources.
- A payment processor, for fees.
- An email provider, to send you reports and notices.
Where your data is kept
VEDI is a US company, and we and some of our providers process data in the United States and in other countries where they operate. Where your data moves out of the EU or UK, we rely on the appropriate legal safeguards to protect it to the same standard.
How long we keep it
As a school, we keep your child’s record — their name, age, the personal details you gave us, your contact information, and their academic progress — for as long as your child is enrolled with us, and for a set period afterwards as the school’s official records and to meet our legal obligations. After that we delete it or make it anonymous.
You can ask us to delete your child’s data, and we will — except where we still need it to run your child’s enrolment, or where the law requires us to keep a specific record.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you the data we hold about you and your child.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete it.
- Give you a copy to take elsewhere.
- Object to, or withdraw your consent for, our use of it.
- Complain to your data-protection regulator if you are unhappy with how we have handled it.

How we keep it safe
Data is encrypted while it travels, stored in access-controlled systems, and uploads are kept in private storage. Access is limited to the people who genuinely need it to teach and support your child. If a data breach ever affected you, we would tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics. We use only the strictly necessary cookies that keep you signed in and the site working.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date above. If a change matters to you, we will tell you directly.
